Catalogs are the primary resource for researching tools and creating type studies. Listed here are links to catalogs that I have found helpful in my own research and creating this website. If you are aware of the public existence of a catalog year not listed here, or have a copy you would be willing to share excerpts from, please reach out using the contact page.

Stanley Catalogs

The Stanley Catalog Collection Volume I contains reprints from 1855, 1859, 1867, 1870-71, 1879, 1888, and 1898.
The Stanley Catalog Collection Volume II contains reprints from 1872, 1874 (revised to 1876), 1877, 1884, and 1892 (revised to 1897), in addition to the Leonard Bailey catalogs of 1876 and 1883.

Henry Disston & Sons Catalogs

1855 - Images of the cover and first page of Disston's 1855 catalog. Unfortunaly no one knows where the rest of the catalog is. These photos were part of a Disston history project from the early 1900s and a copy is owned by the Hagley Museum and Library in Wilmington, Delaware.
1876 - Excerpt of the 5 pages containing squares and bevels. The 1876 catalog was issued as a high quality reprint in 1994. Copies are relatively easy to find online for less than $20.
1879 - Exceprt of the cover and page 42 showing machinist squares and rules. This edition does not include the broader square and bevel line. The original is owned by, and this excerpt provided by, the Hagley Museum and Library in Wilmington, Delaware.
1883 - Page 189 from a Carolan, Cory & Co of San Francisco catalog. This page shows a Disston bevel and square.
1885 - Excerpt of the cover and 6 additonal pages showing the full line of squares, bevels, and gauges. The original is owned by, and this excerpt provided by, the Hagley Museum and Library in Wilmington, Delaware.
1886 - An excerpt from a small pocket sized catalog that someone found. I unfortunaly can not remember who found it and sent me the images to give them credit.
1891 - Excerpt from a Graham & Co of New York City catalog. It appears to have the full line of Disston squares and bevels. (Full catalog)
